Counselling Headingley

Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be: embrace who you are.

Joe Miller Profile

Hi, my name is Jo Miller and I am a counsellor at The Therapy Rooms. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I follow the BACP’s ethical framework to ensure I work safely, ethically, and in the best interests of my clients at all times.

As an integrative counsellor with a person-centred base, I offer a safe, supportive space to explore life’s challenges. I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I can therefore draw on different therapeutic models depending on your needs and what feels right for you. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to support you at your own pace.

I provide a warm, non-judgemental environment where you can free truly heard and accepted. As the integrative approach allows me to remain flexible and responsive to every client, for some, therapy might involve exploring early life experiences and how they shape current patterns. For others, it may focus more on present-day challenges, learning tools to manage emotions, or building self-esteem. Wherever you are starting from, we can work together to find a pace and style that feels comfortable.

I am passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves and find clarity during times of stress or uncertainty. Sometimes we all need a space to pause and reflect. That is what I aim to offer—a place where trust can grow and real change can happen.

Alongside private practice, I have worked in counselling roles within charitable organisations, and I am currently a Specialist Student Mentor.

If you are considering therapy, I know that reaching out can feel like a big step. You don’t have to go through things alone. I’m here to listen, to support, and to offer a safe place for you to explore whatever’s on your mind.

I work with children, young people and adults.

Each session lasts for 50 minutes and is £50 per session, with concessions available for students.

I offer short- and long-term therapy.

Sessions are face to face or online.

I offer a free initial phone consultation, which gives us the opportunity to discuss what you are looking for, how therapy may help and what I can offer.
