LAURA

Laura

We all experience pain and struggle in life and sometimes our thoughts and feelings can become overwhelming. Having a space to express what is going on inside, to take time to reflect and to find a way forward can be life-changing.

My name is Laura Townend and I am an Integrative Psychotherapist. I draw from a number of different approaches, including person-centred, existential and family systems. Ultimately, I value the diversity of human experience and aim to work in a way that best suits the needs of the person in front of me. I have always been interested in how people think and the remarkable ways our brains grow and heal from adverse experiences. I practice trauma-informed care.

I received a Master of Arts in Counselling after completing my training in the United States and I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, meaning that I am committed to ethical practice. I have experience in school and university settings, in community crisis teams and inpatient mental health. I receive regular supervision.
